Proposed new forum

It appears that lately there have been some very good posts from people asking questions related to health issues, and equally good advice from regular members with professional qualifications to answer them. Would it be presumptious of me to suggest that you might start a new forum related to health issues where people can post their questions and answers? I realize this may require a bit of work, but believe it may stimulate more of this type of discussion which could benefit everyone. Thank you for your consideration.

I agree

Less posts in general - more in other sections that would be the goal right?

Anyway we are coming close to anniversary -
10 000 posts in general and 20 000 in total

Adding a new forum is pretty trivial. Let me think about this for a bit and see how I feel.

I guess the only thing that may be sticky is "laymen" (ie non medical professionals) providing suggestions.

Also, I strongly believe that everyone who is having health issues, even if they "consult" a medical professional online, should go see a doctor and not just rely on an "online" diagnosis.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Thumbs up

I do not support the addition of a health-forum.

If you have problems, go see the doctor.

If you think complaints are training related talk with your teacher and consult a fysiotherapist.

The Internet is not the place to solve your health problems! Even well-willing/good-meaning laymen offering "common-sense" advice can be hazerdous to your health!!!

I agree, Jun. There is a potential for liability problems that can't be anticipated until they come up. I would worry that creating such a forum implies acceptance of liability on your part for the advice provided by the posters. I'm not an attorney, so this should also not be considered legal advice!

Yeah, I know, drkoop.com handles it differently. But do you know how many lawsuits are currently being settled with them? No? Then I think better safe than sorry.

Yep, just for the record, I join my voice to the others who don't think it's a good idea.
