Which Aikido image reflects your inner state and feelings?

Atm,
This by far, reflects my inner most state and feelings:

peace, nature, nullified thoughts and love

A good stance and posture reflects a proper state of mind

I think you are supposed to post one of your own that reflects your feelings, not choose one of the above. Unless I am miss understanding you two and you don't think there are ANY photos that represents your feelings out there.

My feelings tend to change, so representing them with a static image doesn't so much work for me.

(and, fyi, I think people were having a bit of fun with this thread)

Re: Which Aikido image reflects your inner state and feelings?

Yes, a bit of fun, but also being somewhat serious.

As Mary said, a static image doesn't really fit the bill. I change daily (though not enough, and not in all the right places)...how is a static image of someone else supposed to reflect MY inner state? And hey, I'm a guy...we don't HAVE inner feelings. We bury them! Ok, well, still working on that one, and I believe I have improved. But honestly, I just don't see the need to use someone else as an avatar. I think Ueshiba Sensei was looking to BECOME his OWN avatar.

Best,
Ron

Probably this one:

Sorry for the off-site link.

Still rough around the edges, feeling like I'm in freefall half the time, crashlanding rather ungracefully, but never, ever giving up.

Re: Which Aikido image reflects your inner state and feelings?

...well then we have to interpret the image right? Two different people can put up the same image and have rather different meanings.
However! That said:

Ok, so it's not a "traditional" Aikido image!

Ron,
I respectfully disagree.
It is definition 1 that is fully in play.
The adepts invariably state that they are conduits.

Huh? It's "fully in play" meaning what, exactly?

Re: Which Aikido image reflects your inner state and feelings?

Hi Josh,

My sense of it is yes, they are conduits...but while they are conducting...they become the kami/god/being etc. They are in fact THE avatar at that moment.

Just the way I read it...could be totally off base of course.

Best,
Ron (I'm sure there are some pertinent quotes from the existing literature out there...probably mentioned in Peter's series)

Image too large? Copyright issue? A little too much anatomical detail?

Because ukemi and knowing how to fall in general is the most important thing in aikido to me. You have more chance of tripping over a stone, or just driving your bicycle against a pole than being attacked. Knowing how to fall, and being able to fall hard can save you a lot of pain and/or fractures.

Re: Which Aikido image reflects your inner state and feelings?

Guys, did you not noticed to read what the thread's topic is all about?

Post an Image that represent your <currently> general feelings and state! (it doesn't matter if it changes tomorrow), instead of saying or arguing about static images or information that is not relative, just post an image

A good stance and posture reflects a proper state of mind

ok .. so this is my inner state ... quite literally!!! (designed it myself!! and later tattooed) I appoligize if it offends anyone who may be against body art but this is my inner self ... always teaching, always learning new things. Balance between what i need and what i want are constant struggles on the scales

again .. not exactly an aikido image ... so sorry in advance if it offends ... but it is me ... it is my inner strength ... my sense of being.
