Mary Heiny Completely Recovered

Posted 2008-12-08 20:14:48 by Garth Jones
News URL: http://www.maryheiny.com

We are now several months on from the amazing fundraising drive that paid for Mary Heiny Sensei's hip replacement. I am delighted to report that she has completely recovered and is back to teaching seminars. Once again, I would like to thank the entire AikiWeb community for their efforts on her behalf. If you are interested in bringing her to your dojo, she may be reached through her website at www.maryheiny.com.

That is really great news. She is amazing to say the least.

I have taken ukemi for her many times and am blown away by her speed, timing, and connection.

She is a real Aikido treasure.

Good to hear. I attended several of her seminars in Oberlin. They were always very good. Real nice lady who teaches some really good aikido.

Re: Mary Heiny Completely Recovered

Ms. Heiny is one of the pioneers in women's aikido. It is great to know that she is recovered from her surgery and once again; contributing to the art that she so loves. God speed.

Re: Mary Heiny Completely Recovered

I'm thrilled to see she'll be in easy driving distance in a couple of months (Kuma Kai in Sebastopol California) so finally I may get to attend a seminar with her!
