Movie 'Red Belt'

I just finished watching the move 'Red Belt'. It was written and directed by David Mamet who holds a purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu.

I think it was an excellent movie and good martial arts movie.
Has anyone else seen it and what did you think of it?

I saw it last week. I did not like the ending though. Other than that I think it was a pretty good movie. Kinda makes you wonder if fighters do throw fights for the certain reasons!!!

Re: Movie 'Red Belt'

Mamet is one of my favorite directors, but his style did not seem to lend itself well to a martial arts genre film.

Good scenes, not bad cinematography. Liked the fights. Movie as a whole..not very good. Ending came out of no where!

Yeah. Pretty good movie considering he used a lot of non-actors in there. The 'tying of one or two hands behind the back' is kinda cool...
