It made me think... The tactics of dog-piles, holds, and arm-controls predates the rampant viral infections present in the world today as much as they do the Taser.
There is very little that the people of the 21st century have over the pre antibiotics generations in the area of biological warfare.
Systematic well poisoning by retreating armies and smallpox contaminated blankets to Indians eclipse in scale and ingenuity scratches and bites by infected people.

Germ warfare never became a mainstream weapon because it is the quintessential double edged sword. No one has figured a way to deploy it without causing indiscriminate damage.

Is this a joke? I thought everyone other than the rabid 'believers' knew the smallpox-blanket story was a fabrication:

Not according to this wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biological_warfare but I do not feel strongly about this particular episode. My point still stands supported by many other examples. This one is nice:
Quote:
During the Middle Ages victims of the bubonic plague were used for biological attacks, often by flinging their corpses and excrement over castle walls using catapults.
. Closer to home we have Unit 731.
