Liz Sasada

Hello, I've been living in Tokyo for 13 years and have been a member of Shiseikan dojo of Meiji Jingu, Tokyo for 5 1/2 years. My husband is Sasada sensei. My training also includes one year before at another Aikikai dojo in Tokyo. At Shiseikan, we practice Budo's primary foundation. So, the Aikido we study is highly influenced by Kashimashinryu kenjitsu (sword practice). Practicing sword with Aikido taijitsu (hand/body waza) becomes interrelated - as the samurai trained. I'm also a Kendo club member and have been training in Kendo for almost 4 years.

Hi,
that is interesting. I live in Tokyo too, and I like to poke around different dojos when I have time. Do you let visitors join? And when you say "of Meiji Jingu", do you actually mean on the premises of the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Harajuku? How cool would that be.
