New Aikido Video Channel

I have started a new video channel:
Aikido Ellis Video Channel....
I intend to use this as a British Aikido History video information channel. I have just added what I believe to be the first UK Aikido film dated 1963 at the USAF European Judo Championships at USAF West Drayton UK. This old film may look speeded up, it is not, take a look at the Judoka walking past normally.
1957 video of Kenshiro Abbe Sensei - M Nakazono 1963 - M Noro 1963 - Henry Ellis 1963 - The Kenshiro Abbe 50th Celebrations - The M Nakazono Aikido Memorial ..Positive Aikido the Book video..
I will soon be adding excerpts of the " TK Chiba 40th UK Celebrations 2006 " exclusive !!

Re: New Aikido Video Channel

That is a very ambitious project, Sensei. Congratulations on its arrival. I look forward to looking backward.. Do you anticipate some content that may serve as historical perspective for European Aikido in general, or even a broader sampling, perhaps? A lot to ask, I know, but it seems like you may be off to a good start.

Ellis Sensei,

I look forward to reviewing it...I find the early history of Aikido in Britain very interesting. Abbe Sensei was indeed a legend in his own lifetime.

Regards,

Re: New Aikido Video Channel

Hi Clark
I believe it is so important to `look back` and appreciate our history-lineage and why Aikido is where it is today. Yes, I do want to involve European Aikido which was so closely linked to UK Aikido in the 1950's/60's. Tadashi Abe - M Nakazono - M Noro - P Chassang. I am now working with the online magazine `Aikidoka France` with my first article running at the moment in 3 parts see
www.Aikidoka.fr (?)

Hi Dewey
Thanks for your interest. Kenshiro Abbe Sensei certainly was a great man and I feel privaleged to have known him.

No matter your pretence, you are what you are and nothing more. Kenshiro Abbe Sensei 1915 - 1985.

Re: New Aikido Video Channel

I have just added some video excerpts of the " TK Chiba Shihan 40th Celebration " London 2006. This event was held by the British BiranKai to celebrate the period from 1966 to 2006 that Chiba Shihan has taught in the UK. This is the firts time this video has been published, enjoy.
