Question Aikido Anime

I was reading the Action Figures thread in the General topic category. It got me thinking.

Are there any Manga or Anime characters who actually use Aikido, or claim that they do? I'm not talking about the Dragonball Z fantasy stuff, but some character who is drawn performing a kote-gaeshi or shiho-nage? If Aikido is so popular in Japan and Internationally, why isn't there an Aikido Super-Hero?

I'd be glad to hear any observations and comments.

Try here:

... and click on "Aiki-Man".

And, of course, there's always TantoBeak at:

Question Aikido Anime

Aiki man and Tanto Beak are martial arts comics. One's a bird and the other is an American! Where are the BIG EYES and small mouth?

BTW how do you know it's aiki-jitsu? It could be an older style of Aikido.

It is not practice that makes perfect, it is correct practice that makes perfect.

Fighters Impact has a girl character that uses aikido... great stuff. Also when I was in Singapore the other day, I played this old arcade game based on grappling arts. Aikido was in it... but I sucked at its ackward controls... so sad to say, aikido lost to kick boxing, wrestling and a variety of others. And I lost 5 bucks!

Anyway, with most manga heroes getting into fights every other scene, I don't think an Aikido hero could exist. Since Aikidoka's are suppose to learn avoidance. Wouldn't be much of a manga show if no one gets hurt... go Rouronin Kenshin!

Ranz, you should have posted that you were coming, we could have met up. Maybe train at my dojo...

Anyway, there are lots of game centres in KL. Used to be loads more, but then the government cracked down on them. Megamall, Sunway Pyramid and Sungai Wang have the biggest arcades... legit ones.

BTW, it's not fatal fury. That 'streetfighter' style of controls are no problem. This grappling game, uses the joystick to initate the moves, and the buttons to move the body. Its all confusing and without instructions...

2) Monster - Urasawa Naoki

Anna is a (maybe tomiki) aikido

a killer.

3) Kakeru - ?

But he failed to do shihonage
against a hentai attacker.
