Who are the other major organizations?

Perhaps this is an odd question, but it was asked of me the other night, and I turn the the collective knowledge here for help with the answer...

(Location: Virginia, USA)
In my area, there are 2 dojos that are recognized by doshu in Japan. One is linked with the Aikiki - the other through the California Aikido Association. While there are a few (I shudder to say this) TKD places that have aikido on their menu, fair to say that it's probably not officially recognized by Japan.

What other aikido organizations have been issued "recognition" from Japan? Is Aikido that new to the US that only these 2 organizations have the official "knod"? These are the only 2 I'm aware of in my area - but are these really the ONLY 2?

What options are there for a small club, in search of an organization to legitimize rank through Japan? (And approaching either local dojo is not an option - burned both bridges )

since you mentioned 'doshu' I'm assuming you are looking into Aikikai affiliates. If you mean organizations with HQ's in Japan...it could be Tomiki, Ki, etc.
