aikido quote

I read the quote "aikido is the art of hitting people with planets" here on aikiweb a couple of times. Does anyone happen to know who said this originally?

Warm regards,
Sonja

Re: aikido quote

I don't know who said it, but I think I know what it means

It think it means that you end up using the earth by slamming their faces into the ground using the techniques (along those lines).

Re: aikido quote

I interperate it as we use the power of the universe against our oppentents

To speak ill of anything is against the nature of Aikido

Re: aikido quote

It could have been the late Terry Dobson; I'm only adding this because it is the first thing that came to memory.

Wouldn't that technically make Judo and Wrestling also the art of hitting people with planets? (Among many things)

Yeah, but they're not classy enough to use cool quotes like that.
