Re: If you could have a magic door...

I'd build a door that would take me back to my home dojo whenever I started to miss it... which is right now

Re: If you could have a magic door...

a door to a short class at my home dojo right now, as I'm up in the middle of the night unable to sleep then a shower and back to bed. I love it there.

Beyond that, a magic door that could transport me to O'Sensei, wherever he happened to be teaching, in the midst of perfectly explaining in exactly the right motion or words whatever technique I'm not quite getting in class.

I would just deal with them one at a time. Although it would be cool to just put them all in a pit and scream "There can be only one!!!" and see what comes of it.

The Jiyushinkan in Tempe, AZ.

Modified by time?

Same place, 10 years ago.

Why chase people I've never met who might or might not (by reputation they do) have what I want to learn when I've already met them and know where they are?

I'd build a magical dojo where all the great masters of judo, jiujitsu, aikido, boxing, mauy thai, catch wrestling, stick fighting, etc could come and give me private lessons 8 hours a day.

Isn't that History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi?

(For those who don't know, that's an anime about a guy who goes to a secret dojo where he trains with all the great masters of each art)

Aikikai Honbu Dojo in Wakamatsu-cho...

...but only because it's relatively close to my favorite bookstore near Shinjuku station and I could use the walk.

Re: If you could have a magic door...

I'd like to have a magic door that opens up to a dojo to where all of my aikido friends' magic doors open up as well.

Re: If you could have a magic door...

My magic door opened up for me this morning. Asa ren at the Seibukan, a little bit of jet lag , only two hours sleep, fortunately Nakao sensei took pity on me. Here for another two weeks

A difficult problem is easily solved by asking yourself the question, "Just how would the Lone Ranger handle this?"
