School/Club Management Software

Hi guys,

Does anyone use any club management software? The reason I ask is that I got annoyed with the only options being horrifically expensive so decided to write my own. It's been very useful at my own club. Another member of this forum suggested that maybe other clubs could use it, so I made it a bit more generic and shoved it online. It can do useful things like track sessions/members/bulk email etc.

Since I've put it up a couple of people have suggested I try to commercialise it and pull in some money for the club. I'm wondering if anyone on this forum wanted to have a look at it and tell me how useful it would be and how it could be improved? There's an example database that can be played with, or I'm happy to set up a database just for your club.

Software can be found at http://www.silicondragon-online.com/gateway/ and the test database details are:

club: Hall of Fame
user: admin
pwd: admin

Feedback welcome!

Hi Paul,

very impressed with both the software and some of the members!!

my club will have to keep going on paper and pen for the time being, but I can see how usefull your system would be for larger organisations. Keep up the good work, and good luck with the marketing.

regards,

Mark

School/Club Management Software

Thanks Mark,

Of course a student is only as good as their teacher! Why are you remaining analogue? I can set you up a free account for you to make the transition. You can then also help guide the software development until you forget even what a pen is...

Re: School/Club Management Software

This is a nice software. Here are my suggestions to consider adding:
- an events calendar (by club)
- the ability to get individual's attendance to classes and/or events would be a very nice feature
- a place where the seminar and club advertisements can be uploaded and stored for X number of years so that group emails can reference a web page instead of filling up everyone's mailbox with large attachments
- a way of managing interested parties emails (for instance, let someone who is interested in any events Ikeda sensei is teaching anywhere, or if someone from a nearby dojo always wants to be notified when you are having events ...)
- have a way to pre-pay for events using pay pal or credit card etc... and/or to let people auto pay their club dues
- track injuries and incident reports (if we find that someone was hurt or caused injuries in 10 different events in 10 locations, maybe we want to inform the instuctors of subsequent events that this person is a danger to themselves and others
- provide a place to sell videos of events online

I could go on and on. Let me know if you would like more ideas. -Rob (I didn't realise my wife had logged me out an herself in since I was last at this computer!)

All good ideas. Injury records and session attendance can already be done in the software. I've just added "Outgoings" and am writing "summary" information which will produce a nice set of accounts.

Is the software of any use in the state it's in? I'm trying to get people to try it and am considering offering it completely free and getting the income needed to support it through advertising.
