Hey Ginae. I'm not sure this is the website for you. It is a martial arts community, not one of language enthusiasts. What you may most likely be able to use to devise a phonetic translation, would be Hiragana (Click here!)
, a collection of syllables, both consonants and vowels, for words that have no direct translation.
Or, if your name has a meaning behind it's creation, for the sake of the argument, we'll pretend the name Raymond comes from the romantic language bases of rey, and mond. Which basically mean King, and World. So, if Raymond is so named as to imply that he is the king of the world, we would look for terms in Japanese that most closely resemble the nouns, articles, and possesive qualifiers necessary to say so. That is precisely where my input must end because what I know about japanese plus 2 dollars would only get me a seat on the NY metro.
michael (from hebrew, meaning 'likened to god', or the question "Who is like god?") is apparently translated to マイケル (maikeru), though I couldn't tell you if that was based off meaning, or hiragana. From the phonetic spelling at the end, I'd bet the above bus-fare that is was the latter.
You're not likely to get much more than that, but at least it's something, good luck! Oddly enough a language enthusiast in this martial arts community happened to see your post.
