i am trying to help my roommate with her communications assignment. She has to come up with interview questions. We have thought of the obvious ones like;
why should we hier you?
Where do you plan to be in 5 years.
please help us, tell us what questions you were asked when you interviewed for a job, or what you ask the people you are thinking of hiering.
thank you for your help.

Re: need help with interview
I have always thought it odd to be asked what i want to be or plan to be doing in 5 yrs. I am over 50 yrs old and if you looked at where I was at 30 nobody, even I, would have accurately predicted my life at 35; ditto every 5 yr interval since then.
The best (as in most meaningful and productive, regardless of if I took or was offered the job or not) interviews I have had were based on specific open-question problemsolving scenarios direclty pertaining to the job at hand.

Re: need help with interview
What's your ideal job? (the closer to the one offered, usually the better satisfaction and performance)
What are your strengths and weaknesses? (realistic assessment)
How do you handle stress? (if they don't mention things outside the job, they maybe too focused or isolated, don't hire them)
Any questions for us? (if they haven't done their research or shop you back, they may not be the best pick)

Gavin De Becker wrote a great book called "Gift of Fear" check out his website for insightful questions, and what the answers say about the candidate.

Re: need help with interview
Very important: Why do I want to join that company?
It is less for telleing them, what a great company they are working with, although that is exactly what you do, but it is for telling them, that you did your homework and you know where you are going to for the interview.
Well maybe both
Best regards
Dirk

Re: need help with interview
"How does this job (fit) for you compared to your "ideal" job?"
What would your ideal job be?
What strengths and assetts do you bring to this position?
Do you plan for this to be a long-term employment ? As in are you looking for summer work, seasonal, just to make christmas $ etc.
Just a few of the ones I have used with potential workers.
