Star Wars (song)

Here's a song a fellow traveller wrote down for me while I was backpacking round Aus. Please ignore the bad scanning...

Star Wars (Anakin) Song (to the tune of American Pie)

I find me and Qui Gon Ginn
Trying to talk the Federation in
To cutting us a little slack
But their response it didn't thrill us
They locked the doors and tried to kill us

We escaped from that gas
The Met Charge are in Boss Nass
We took a bongo from the scene
And went to Fee to see the Queen
We all wound up on Tatooine
That's where we found this boy

Chorus:

My my this here Anakin guy
Maybe Vader someday later
Now he's just a small fry
He left his home and kissed his mummy goodbye
Singing soon I'm gonna be a Jedi
-

Now we finally got to Consant
The Jedi council we knew would want
To see how good the boy would be
So we took him there And we told the tale
How his Midichlorians were off the scale
And he might fulfil that prophecy

The council was impressed of course
Could he bring balance to the force?
They interviewed the kid
All training they forbid
‘Cos Yoda sensed in him much fear
But Qui Gonn said ‘Now listen here
Just stick it in your pointy ear,
I still will train this boy'

And he was singing…
Chorus
-

We went back to Naboo
Because Queen Amidala wanted to
I frankly would have liked to stay
We all fought in that epic war
And it wasn't long at all before
Little hotshot flew his plane in and saved the day

And in the end some Gungans died
Some ships blew up and some pilots fried
A lot of folks were crocken
The battle druids were brocken
And the Jedi I admire the most
Met up with Darth Maul -- and now he's toast
But I'm still here and he's a ghost
I guess I'll train this boy

And I was singing…
Chorus

Did you know this Junkyard slave
Isn't even old enough to shave
But he's got the force they say
An' do you see him hitting on the Queen
Though he's just 9 and she 14
Yeah he's probably gonna marry her someday

- Angela

Re: Star Wars (song)

That's "The Saga Begins" by Weird Al Yankovic, good song though, but the problem with any parody is that you sometimes can drift back and forth between the real song and the parody...well I know I do when I sing this one in the shower :-D

You'd be surprised at how much aikido philosophy you can pick up on at the end of the party when there's just a couple drunk sempai and you.

Re: Star Wars (song)

The video was hilarious - Darth Sidious on piano and (IIRC) Maul on drums.

BTW - the opening lines go:
"Long, long time ago...
In a galaxy far away,
Naboo was under an attack.

Ad I thought me and Qui-Gon Jinn
Would talk the Federation in...
to maybe cutting them a little slack..."

Answers are only easy when they're incomplete.
