People can be taught via biofeedback to increase the temperatures in their hands, presumably via increased bloodflow, just as they can be taught to change heart rate and blood pressure and a number of autonomic responses.
When I was first migraining, as TCM holds that the issue is the head is too hot and the hands/periphery to cold, it was suggested I try this....I did it at home without biofeedback but using breathing as a means to visualize moving energy from my head to my hands, and used a thermometer as a guage, and yes, it is possible to do at least that much temperature control.....
As it takes a lot of time and energy to do this and once one is migraining, well, since I respond well to meds, I tend to go for the meds first and then work on the breathing....
