YouTube: Morihei, Kisshomaru, and Moriteru Ueshiba in 1960

Here's an Aikido video from Michael Rogge that shows Morihei Ueshiba and his son Kisshomaru Ueshiba and grandson Moriteru Ueshiba in 1960.

What are your thoughts on this video?

Great vid! I can't believe I've never seen it before. What an amazing moment in time to have all 3 of the Ueshiba men training at once. Current Doshu looks like he's only about 10 y.o., if that O-sensei himself seems quite energetic and active too, as this was nearly a decade before his death in 1969.

The darkness is due to the fact that is was filmed with what looks like a Super 8 or 16mm camera with a single spotlight mounted on the top of it as the only light source by which to film.

I like the defence against Judo strangle at about 2:00 because I like to do that and have been criticised saying it is not Aikido but Jujutsu. Ha ha. And who is the foreigner in there?

I'm almost certain that is Alan Rudduck, author of Aikido Memoirs which contains some interesting points about "aiki".
