"Feeling Aiki"

Didn't somebody once post a song parody on here called "Feeling Aiki", sung to the tune of Feeling Groovy? I think it started out with "slow down you move to fast. You've got to make the waza last..." I can't find it in the archives. If anybody has it on file could you please post it.

Thanks,
Bronson

add on to no talking in class?

Please tell me no one actually sings these...

Had one person think it was a good idea in the pub one night, got them to sing it while doing a technique next lesson (on the basis it would help their breathing in practice of course - not 'cos I'm a git), managed to nip this one in the bud!

What next - kareoke aikido styles?

It went like this

Slow down, you move too fast

You got to make the waza last

So

Relax, center down

Extend your ki and there goes uke

(dadada da da da da, there goes uke)

We came up with this after watching a couple of ikkyu tests

Talking

Here's the original:

Simon and Garfunkel - 59th Street Bridge Song

Slow down, you move too fast, you've got to make the morning last

Just kickin' down the cobble-stones, lookin' for fun and feelin' groovy, feeling groovy

Hello lamp-post, what'cha knowin', I've come to watch your flowers growin'

Ain'cha got no rhymes for me, do-it-a-do-do, feelin' groovy, feeling groovy

I've got no deeds to do, no promises to keep

I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep

Let the morning time drop all its petals on me

Life I love you, all is groovy.

change at your will.

You guys inspired me...

Here's my humble offering, sung to the tune of "I get no kick from champagne'....

-----------------------------------------

My story is much too sad to be told

My creaking, aching joints are making me old

I offer nikyo as a point in case

When I'm down on bended knee

Fighting vainly the urge to flee

Then I suddenly turn and see

Your fiendish face

I get no kick from the pain

Mere Tylenol doesn't help me at all,

To my shame I admit that it's true

I can't wait to nikyo you

I got a kick in the groin

I couldn't rise till the throbbing subsides

Grab my wrist and I'll circle on cue

Then I get to nikyo you

I get a kick every time I see you kneeling there

Before me

I get a kick though it's clear to see

You obviously do not adore me

I get a kick from your face

Flying up high with your skirts in the sky

After I jointlock and fling you goodbye

Oh, I get a kick out of you...

;^D
