Thank you for the article. I read it after starting a rather whiny post about my own injuries. I have no intention of quitting. I did aikido as a youngster (I am 49 now) and you cannot train the same or bounce the same as 35 years ago. I am progressing slower but that does not bother me in the slightest. The article was timely for me as it helps me put a perspective on the big picture. Again thank you for sharing.

Soooo much meat in this column and so many different threads to be pursued. I wait for this column every month with bated breath . I'd love to hear more about so many aspects: the macrobiotic diet for aikidoists would certainly be interesting and food for a separate column (pun intended).
