So, prize winners, any thoughts on what you won?

Just a quick thanks to everyone who participated. And to Clark and Alan for two very cool prizes!

Great job. Do I get to hit Mark with the bokuto first ?
The Aikido community really came together nicely under Jun.
Really nice job.

I think anyone who's used perl for working with encryption algorithms already knows about the [not-so-]random numbers.
I just assumed that people who won 3 or 4 items must have purchased 20 tickets each...

Intentionally-obfuscated Aikido? Using regex's?

You'll have to come down here to do that!

Hey I did suggest the ol pen and paper thing, but noooo someone had to get his geek on!
And yes, a couple extra tickets were an early Mother's Day gift. I decided that was more worthwhile than another box of Godiva, and definitely easier on my waistline!

Re: AikiWeb Raffle for Mary Heiny Sensei
I just want to add my thanks for Organising this raffle.
The fact that I won something that I can actually claim was also pretty cool.
As is the amount that was raised!

Re: AikiWeb Raffle for Mary Heiny Sensei
I anticipated this problem -
Not only did I agree to transfer the prize to someone more local, I also have arranged to trade some aikido related dvds as a more "sendable" prize. Hopefully others in this situation can also work something out.
Glad to hear all that we were able to raise for Mary. Thanks to all who participated, and of course to Jun!!

Re: AikiWeb Raffle for Mary Heiny Sensei
Hi folks,
Just a quick update. I received a check for an additional $100 to be included in the raffle donation, so that brings the total up to $4,600!
I am currently awaiting the bank transfer from PayPal. As soon as it clears, I'll be sending the check to the fund to help Mary Heiny sensei's upcoming hip surgery. I'll keep everyone informed.
Best,
-- Jun

Good on you, Jun... I'm sure the outpouring of positive energy will be every bit as beneficial as the monetary contribution. We are all here to help each other.

Re: AikiWeb Raffle for Mary Heiny Sensei
Hi folks,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have sent the cashiers check for $4,600 to the Friends of Mary Heiny fund.
I want to take a moment here to thank all of the folks who generously donated the 80 prizes as well as all of you who purchased one of the almost 450 tickets. Seeing the worldwide aikido community come together -- across organizational, stylistic, and geographic borders -- to participate in this raffle was a pleasure for me. I feel proud to be a part of this aikido community of ours!
So, thank you, everyone!

Re: AikiWeb Raffle for Mary Heiny Sensei
Jun and the entire AikiWeb community,
Again, let me offer a most heartfelt thank you for all your generosity in organizing, donating prizes, and buying raffle tickets. We received the check yesterday and it will shortly be used for hip parts and rehab.
Mary Sensei managed to get through her last pre-surgery seminar this past weekend. She was in good spirits but quite uncomfortable so this fundraising has happened none too soon. There was much speculation on how far we will fly when she can really move again!
My very best to all of you.
Garth

Re: AikiWeb Raffle for Mary Heiny Sensei
Hi Everybody,
Here is a thank you from Mary Heiny Sensei:
To Jun Akiyama, and all the donors, organizers and participants in the aikiweb raffle I wish to express my most sincere and heartfelt thank you. Frankly, I am flabbergasted at how many items were
offered, how many tickets purchased and how much money was raised.
The gratitude I feel towards all of you and all of the others who have expressed such generous caring is difficult to express. It feels to me like a wave moving out from my heart to each of you, carrying not only a thank you but a wish that each of is never without the support of your community. May you all have health, prosperity, loving community and mind blowing irimi nages.
