Freaky! Founder of Aikido.... Also a liar.

I was reading on this on Face Book https://www.facebook.com/pathofthesa...09468195988093

You will have to scroll down the page for the exact location.

Here is an extract from one of the viewers comments.

Founder of Aikido.... Also a liar.

"Well the thing is,Ueshiba found Aikido not as a original way of martial art but as a copy-cat of Toshitsugu Takamatsu's teachings of nine schools, including Ninjutsu(or Shinobi no jutsu). You see,Toshitsugu Takamatsu was teaching nine different schools and one of his first students was Masaaki Hatsumi and Morihei Ueshiba. They were both successful but Hatsumi was most likely to inherit the nine ryu's and Ueshiba was not fine with that. When Takamatsu passed away at 1972,they both got in an argument about who will inherit the ryu's as grandmaster.Hatsumi did(as expected). And he found the International Bujinkan Fed. at 1974 to spread Takamatsu's(and his ancestor's) teachings all around the world.Pretty right decision if you ask me... i mean,i wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't for him.Anyways,Ueshiba was not satisfyed so he used his teaching(changed and simplify them)and called it "Aikido".He found his own federation and get what he want i believe. He is a grandmaster now but not as a Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu(The name ryu's before Bujinkan) student but as his own fed's..."

That is incorrect. it was the legendary Hattori Hanzo who taught both Masaaki Hatsumi and Morihei Ueshiba. Besides those two, Hanzo also taught a third student who went by the name of Bill, who went rogue, so they sent out a Kill order for Bill.

I stopped at "Ninjitsu".

Naturally having something useful to say is like natural responses during training: It takes much practice.

Re: Founder of Aikido.... Also a liar.

I don't think this incredible revelation about Ueshiba (all of which is true, I'm sure) will really affect my day to day practice.

Still, I might want to think about bowing to someone else's picture at the dojo. This Facebook guy seems to know his stuff. Maybe I'll use his...

Re: Founder of Aikido.... Also a liar.

Morihei Ueshiba was never a student of Toshitsugu Takamatsu

Unless I am grossly mistaken, they were not even living in the same geographical area
