Intro from a lurker from Gold Coast, Australia

Hi guys,
I've made a couple of posts over the last couple of days, and haven't provided you with a summary of who I am - remiss on my part.
My name's Travers, and now I live on the sunny Gold Coast in Australia.
As a child I lived in New Zealand, and spent a few years in Japan. (I ended up graduating high school there). I studied kendo and judo at school, and also jujitsu outside. Nothing spectacular in the big scheme of things.
Fast forward a few years and my wife (Japanese) and I moved to Australia. After setting up house and our new life getting easier, I'm back doing martial arts again now that time and finances allow.
I fell into aikido - I was looking for japanese jujitsu, and aikido was there. I train with a great bunch of people, and that's why I'm still there. That and the fact that my wife's family have been involved in aikido back in Japan ties up the filial piety thing nicely. My daughter also comes to training when she's not doing what any little girl should do - have fun.
I'm very much of the practical mindset - I want what I'm doing to work. If it doesn't, I'm looking at what I can do to make it work in future. I like to take the personal accountability approach - it didn't work because if something I need to improve on - not someone else.
Look forward to talking to you all soon.
