Re: Dan Harden seminar in The Netherlands

I wish I could have made it up there. I have to go to Bastogne this weekend for the annual "Battle of the Bulge" march...otherwise I would have asked to come up and train with you guys. Maybe next time.

Re: Dan Harden seminar in The Netherlands

Today we did a recap of a lot of the exercises dan showed us. This was very usefull as every one has a different insight or remembered the exercises better.

All in all a good day with (again) lots of fun

We agreed we should do this more often.

Re: Dan Harden seminar in The Netherlands

Well, while you idiots were having your fun without me, I was having a blast with your very own Alec Corper here in the states at Marc' s place. And after Saturday night with Alec giving us a single malt tasting lesson with some very fine whiskey ....we were all glowing to.
Bottoms up

Re: Dan Harden seminar in The Netherlands

So, the crossing the pond of Alec had nothing to do with his extended knowledge of whisky?

Ah, single malt is an expensive addiction that I am trying to withdraw from - not going very well I am afraid

Sorry I missed Marc's - next time for sure.

Glenfiddich. A very nice scotch in its way, I suppose. If it's the best you can get.

That's my entry level signal malt - I prefer Glenlivet French Oak or Macallan 18 yr

Actually that's the one I was thinking about! Glenfiddich is OK entry level but a friend of mine introduced me to Glenlivet and that's what I've been getting (it's fairly easy to find and not that much more expensive).

For anybody interested in some really good rum:

mmmm.....best rum I ever had was a sipping rum from Nicaragua obligingly provided by a Spanish teacher at SFCC who, being in a cast, I provided rides home to in the late evening after class.....smooth as cognac it was.

Now you're talking my language. I remarked to my son the other day, "I was looking at the Macallan 18 year but I decided to go with the cask strength instead" and his response was, "You know, Dad, that's a pretty awesome sentence you're rocking there."

To which my reply was, "Yeah, that's why we're broke all the time."

Anybody know the Macduff? A friend served it at Thanksgiving, thereby showing why Thanksgiving is the most awesome holiday ever.

YES! the class was good (reading and preparing oral reports on Fuentes' "El Espejo Enterrado" - great language practice and actually served as my intro to Seneca) but oh my the rum was even better!
