1st Randori

Had my first promotion last night and during Randori....
Used to much hands (grabing) hurt my right thumb, not broken but it sure is sore....
This is a soft style right..LOL
Headed back to class now....

Make sure to pamper that thumb til it's pain-free: ice as needed, maybe athletic taping during training

I'll never forget training for my first randori. I hadn't even made it to the test yet, I was just practicing. I threw this big long guy, he was hard to manage because both ends of him weren't always in the same time zone, and somehow the heel of his foot came sweeping across my face, taking my nose with it.

My nose broken in 3 places, my septum didn't have a place to call home, and the whole thing was plastered against the front of my face, sideways. I looked like a piece of Cubist art for about a week until the ENT guy set it.

I was nervy about randori for about a year or two after that.
