Almost sounds like one of those "suicide by police" gone awry, and he was unfortunate to be in the line of fire.
A tough job, a tough break, and I wish him well.

Re: Forum member Kit LeBlanc wounded . . .

Folks

Thanks for the good wishes.

Phillippe - I checked, and made it out of the hospital still male, though you never know these days!!

I will be fine with no lasting injury. Best available info at the time was that the situation was a hostage rescue and our hand was forced. More details will come out as the investigation continues, but I can't really comment much further now.

I have already posted on two forums re: my recovery, and don't want to get too spread out, but rest assured I will continue to check on this thread. The outpouring of support has been fantastic.

Re: Forum member Kit LeBlanc wounded . . .

Adam-

I'm proud of our whole team. Three other men went into that room with me. Our medics, much of the rest of the team, and negotiators went inside the house as well and were getting shot at through the walls.

I just happen to get the lion's share of attention because I wasn't smart enough to dodge a bullet! Need to work on my tai sabaki.

All-

I have been checking the thread regularly, thanks to all that took the time to post your thoughts and for those of you who PM'd me. The support is wonderful and much appreciated.

I am doing well, on a PT regimen and back on the trails. Can't wait to get back on the mat, and then back in "the stick."

Re: Forum member Kit LeBlanc wounded . . .

Wondering if Mr. Leblanc is the same Mr. Leblanc mentioned as recently decorated with Medal of Valor and Purple Heart in this newspaper article.
http://www.columbian.com/news/localN..._Applause.cfm/

If so, congrats Kit. If he is not then sorry for the confussion and congrats to the other Mr. Leblanc.
