from Howard Popkin
To Whom it May Concern,
As of 10/21/2010, I have resigned my position as Representative for the Daitoryu Aikijujutsu Roppokai.
We wish Okamoto Sensei nothing but health and happiness for the future. We thank Sensei for the wonderful years of training and his tireless dedication to his art.
The Popkin-Brogna Self Defense Center will continue to train as we always have, but we will not call our art Roppokai and we are no longer associated with the Roppokai organization in any way.
Thank you,
Howard Popkin

Re: from Howard Popkin
Thanks guys,
It was very rough considering how much I love Okamoto Sensei and how much he has taught me.
But it was the right thing to do.
Thanks again !

Re: from Howard Popkin
wow! i can only imagine how tough that decision was for you. i would not want to be in your shoes.
besides that, can i put in a bid for the name of your art? we can discuss it over beer and southern BBQ whenever you in town.

Best of luck. Since you posed me a polite retrospective question, I offer you a prospective one likewise in return.
Without touching on any delicate concerns -- What path has your training departed upon, and where do you see it going?

Re: from Howard Popkin
I will still practice the two styles taught at my dojo:
Daitoryu Aikijujutsu
Goshin-budo Jujitsu - an American offshoot of Hakkoryu Jujutsu.
And who knows

This took serious bravery. You are a good leader for your students and your art. I plan to attend your seminars when time allows.
