Aikido Association of America Founder Fumio Toyoda Shihan (11/8/47-7/4/01) will be honored by his students, friends and family at the AAA Official Memorial Training on July 4, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. in Palatine, IL at AAI HQ Ryoshinkan Dojo (2019 N. Rand Road). There is no fee for the training and a pot luck lunch will follow. Aikido training will be led by Andrew M. Sato Sensei, recently appointed AAA Chief Instructor. Shaku Joseph Jarman, head of Brooklyn Buddhist Association in NY and longtime student of Toyoda Shihan will conduct the memorial service. This event will be attended by international and national guests including Y. Kobayashi Shihan, a long time friend and mentor of Toyoda Shihan and President & Chief Instructor of Kobayashi Dojo of Japan, an Aikikai Hombu Dojo affiliated organization.
