Chen Kuo-ying (³¯°ê^), age 69, came to Taiwan from Indonesia two months ago after hearing about the diao gung truck pull. "Now I have no problem carrying groceries back from the market, and I no longer have to wake up three or four times a night to go to the bathroom," he said thankfully, obviously amazed at the rapid progress he's made.

Heh, the results speak for themselves!
I wonder if they make him bag his own groceries...

Re: Extreme Kung Fu
That's not right....I'm trying to figure out which guy just wanted to start doing that...He's sitting at home watching the cows and he drops the bottle of fermented goat milk he had tied to his wrist and it catches him and he says ..."I have reached enlightenment!"...How the hell does that thing happen?
I hope he already had kids... ...or maybe not...

Re: Extreme Kung Fu
It probably started as an attempt to increase his size, and then somebody caught him at it so he had to come up with a quick excuse:
First Man caught standing in shed, with weights tied: "Uh, it's chi-gung! You wouldn't understand..."
Other Man: "Ohhhh, Chi-gung, 'eh? Let me try. I bet you I can hold up more weight than you!"
First man: "I double-dog dare you!"

Re: Extreme Kung Fu
You can see these guys on 'Mind, Body and Kick Ass Martial Arts' (Ithink it is called) on BBC3
The head honcho can lift 150 kilos, pull a truck with 8 men in it, lets you kick him in the nuts to your heart's content.....as the guy on the show says...don't try this at home kids.

Re: Extreme Kung Fu
I believe it's from a very obscure and esoteric sect of Taoism which has it's roots in tantric yoga - using sexual energy to attain enlightenment.
Some of the ideas aren't all that weird, (well, OK, maybe pulling a Boeing 747 with your doodads is a bit xtreme), but some of the exercises are rather interesting, particularly the ones which involve exercising the pelvic floor (women who've had kids know what I'm talking about). Apparently western science has recently discovered (or so I've read), that pelvic floor exercises in men over a certain age, has the potential to reduce prostate cancer. So maybe it's not that kooky after all?

Get a girlfriend? Too bad for these guys all that pulling on Willie the One Eyed Trouser Snake has severed the nerves. This is why he doesn't feel it when you "kick him in the Jimmy" (ahhh how I lament Beavis and Butthead), but the side effect is that he is completely impotent. Viagra won't help; his soldier will no longer stand at attention for anyone. His girlfriend will have to be happy with "just being friends."

Re: Extreme Kung Fu
I think that you've missed the point. With one's lower brain out of order, one has no need for a girl friend and one has a great deal more time to devote to training.
And if one retains the girl friend, one doesn't need to use ones hands to lift the toilet seat in the middle of the night.
