What is language anyway?

I saw a few posts here on correct language for transmitting Aikido. We have lots of language barriers in a site like this even when we have a common subject matter. What do we really try to communicate with our choice of names, and do nebulous Japanese terms really offer much when we try to discuss subtle mind/body principles? Here's one old tirade:

Re: What is language anyway?

I lost all letters in every language three years ago with aphasia/stroke. Shihan Smith was still alive then and came to see me in the hospital. (I was there for a month the first time.) Even though I not speak he let me do a little aikido and talked about what I had been doing for the 14 years before I got sick. I still did not be able to talk well but every time I found any language then English gave me words. (My job was writing plays/films before so Aikido/Spanish/Zhonwen/French/Japanese...) I do not this it is about "barries" but just like you said "mind/body" and aikido.
