Popkin Sensei in Elizabethtown PA on 5/17/08

Howard Popkin of the Daitoryu Roppokai conducted a small seminar at the E-Town Aiki Kurabu this past Saturday.

I want to thank Howard for his time and for giving us a glimpse into the Aiki of the Roppokai. I just like to echo comments made by Don Modesto and George Ledyard - the subtle techniques of the Roppokai have a deep substance that can literally rattle your bones. I believe the application of their Aiki concepts could greatly improve the effectiveness of anyone's techniques and I encourage other aikidoist to take advantage of any opportunity they get to learn more about the Roppokai. To those out there that have seen Okomoto Sensei's videos and think that the Uke's are taking falls, all I have to say to you is, take the ukemi yourself, the techniques are real and very effective - my bones still hurt from it!

Again, my public thanks to Howard - all the members of our club look forward to learning more from Howard in the future.

Greg,

Thanks for the kind words. I really had a nice time.

Love the beer mugs.

See you soon,
