Passing of Yoshiaki Unno Sensei

Hi Everyone,

Yoshiaki Unno Sensei passed away yesterday afternoon in hospital. He was 56.

Unno Sensei played an important part in the development of martial arts in Western Australia by.introducing Yoseikan Budo to Australia in the 1970s.

Unno Sensei was my teacher and his passing is a blow to my school. He will be missed.

Darin

Re: Passing of Yoshiaki Unno Sensei

Hi Darin,

I am very sorry to hear that such a great man has passed on. It is a huge loss to the martial arts community in Perth.

My thoughts are with his family and all the people that were close to him.

Kindest Regards
Ben

Re: Passing of Yoshiaki Unno Sensei

Hi Darin,

Is there going to be a write up of Yoshiaki Unno Sensei in his memory? If so could you let me know where as I would really like to read it. From what I have heard and read of the great man he was a true pioneer of Karate and also Aikido here in Perth and I think his story should be told.

Kindest Regards
Ben

Re: Passing of Yoshiaki Unno Sensei

Hi Ben,

No idea if there will be a write up on Yosh. Hope one of his old students will do one. It would be nice to upload some of the old videos he has but they are all with his family or been thrown out.

Thats really unfortunate, I would like to do a write up but don't have enough info and I wasn't lucky enough to meet him.

I too don't have much info on him or any old pictures. I only knew Yosh since 1992.

Yoshi's funeral will be 2pm this Friday at Pinaroo Cemetery. Please pass this on to Ross although I think Yoshi's wife would have told him already.

Was a good funeral. Very sad. Was nice to see the pictures of him when he was young. Looked so happy back then. Was good to catch up with Ross.
