VA Tech shootings
As far as I know, none of our dojo members were involved in this horrible incident, & I hope to hear from all of them soon.
With many campus activities canceled, we won't be training this week.
However, I do want all of our dojo members, active or currently inactive, to feel free to contact myself or Truman Sensei if you want to.
Our thoughts are with all of the VT community, friends, family, alumni, staff... as we put the pieces back together & carry on.

You guys are in my prayers.
Occurences like this are proof positive that we should seize the day; You might not see someone you love again.

Re: VA Tech shootings
My sempai talked about it after keiko on Monday. He said, quite simply, that this is a reminder that any one of us could die tomorrow, so for today, one should do the very best one can.
And then he told us to make sure to keep our nails trimmed lest they cause death.

no one in my school has been injured by the shootings either, thankfully! it was pretty scary hearing about it all though.

A moment of Silence.
One of the long time difficulties of being a Virginia Tech Hokie has been the question you get everywhere, "What is a Hokie?"
Today on the VT drill field, during a campus gathering, my wife saw a t-shirt that read
Quote:
There are 32 people in heaven trying to explain what a Hokie is.

A nice attitude to see among the people coming together after the events of the week.
