USAF News is reporting that Rick Stickles sensei (7th dan, Aikido Schools of New Jersey) has passed away this Sunday, June 21, 2015. According to their report, ASNJ members will be holding a memorial service at their dojo on Wednesday, June 24, at 7pm.

Stickles sensei was introduced to aikido shortly after graduating from NYU and became soto deshi under Yoshimitsu Yamada sensei. He founded Aikido Schools of New Jersey in 1977 and created a curriculum called "Sit, Cut, Throw" which incorporates his Dzogchen meditation practice, aiki-ken, and empty-handed aikido practices. He was married with three children.

My condolences to his family, friends, students, and loved ones.
