Seminar Fee: $150 (US)

Participants are advised to bring tanto and bokken.

Threadgill Sensei is not to be missed.
His seminars are some of the best around.
Highly recommend.
Give him by regards when you see him.

What Lynn said. Makes this one if it is possible. Especially with the limited group size, there will be lots of hands on and opportunity to ask questions. Wish I could make it.

Happy New Year!

Why happy? Because there are still fifteen spots left and you have time to lock one down before the second wave of registrations washes opportunity away.

Three months to go, about one dozen slots left. Thirty participants is a hard cap.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled entertainment.

Best,

Maybe you're interested in something beyond rounding up the usual suspects.

If so, we'd love to see you. If not, well, you can always go with the usual suspects.

Marc -- good luck finding a cover. We'd be happy to see you.

Budd -- you covered the vegetable classification yesterday with "nut," another friend covered the animal classification with "loon." Next, someone is likely to tell me I'm full of schist.....Sorry we won't see you in April. I'll just have to suffer the indignity of catching you that many more quantum leaps later in your developmental curve....

Best,

FL

I wish I could attend myself...one of these days.
Isn't it great to find a very good Martial artist
Who just happens to be a good teacher
Who just happens to be such a great person as well.
Go figure
Happy training

Damn Fred... The number of these events that involve "outgo" always seems to far exceed the number that involve "income". My wife points out that this does not represent a sustainable balance over the long run... I'm going to have to wait for Toby's next return to Seattle, I am afraid.

Re: Toby Threadgill Seminar: Newark, NJ, 4/21-23/2011

Marc,

I've got you on the list. I've also got making forms to send everyone on the list on the list, but it's time, since we're down to six openings and soon comes the waiting list.

George,

Understood. I have been hearing a similar message, though the particulars have more to do with dissertation production. The good news is that I may finish the first draft next month. The bad news is that the weekend in April is the only time I'm doing a full three day run of all martial arts, all the time, until the corrections are incorporated and the defense is done; and even that won't produce any immediate income.

Registration materials for Toby's Seminar have gone out to almost everyone for whom I have contact information. If you feel left out, perhaps the attachment to this message will ease that discomfort.

Hope to see you on the mat!

Best,

Marc,

At this point, yes. If we become over-booked, I may have to prioritize full-seminar participants or find some flexibility on the cap, and there's a possibility of that as well, within reason.

Best,

Fred

Re: Toby Threadgill Seminar: Newark, NJ, 4/21-23/2011

A number of people have contacted me privately about this, but let me be as clear as can be in public:

There are currently five spots which have not yet been spoken for.

Spots that are spoken for should be locked down by submission of registration forms and payment by 3/21/2011 (two weeks from today).

Effective 3/21/2011, in the event of any overflow, registrations will be prioritized and first preference will be given to those signing up for the full seminar, who have filed the registration forms and paid in advance. Registrations which are unpaid, have incomplete paperwork, or are for partial seminar registrations will be subject to bumping.

There will be no at-the-door registration -- there will be quite enough to deal with without mixing administrative business with budo.

Hope to see you on the mat.

Best,

FL

There are three spots not yet spoken for. If you're still on the fence, it's a good moment to get on the list (or the waiting list, as the case may be).

Re: Toby Threadgill Seminar: Newark, NJ, 4/21-23/2011

Two cancellations, two new paid registrants, so we are down to three spots with no registration or payment arrangement in place. Time's a-wasting.

(And as a special bonus, I can now confirm that Beth Johnson, of Beth's Buki, will be on-hand with a selection of her custom wood weapons,, ranging in size from tanto and mokusen to yari, in a variety of woods, including osage orange, jatoba, other delights to be revealed)

Cheers,

Fred

Re: Toby Threadgill Seminar: Newark, NJ, 4/21-23/2011

Three spots open on a first come, first serve basis. There will be no registration at the door (please don't make me be a meanie -- if you're on the fence it's decision time), which makes pre-registration is the only form of registration.

Registration forms are attached below, please return them to little (at) njit (dot) edu

Cheers!

Re: Toby Threadgill Seminar: Newark, NJ, 4/21-23/2011

My wife and I are so thankful to Fred Little Sensei for organizing such an outstanding event. If you have not had the opportunity to train with Toby Threadgill yet, he is one of those "must see" teachers who should be on your "must train with" list. I am already looking forward to training with Toby Threadgill again at George Ledyard's seminar in August!
