I am looking for a website with good concise instructions on kumitachi, kentaijo, and kumijo. Pictures and movies are preferable. Also if anyone knows of any Aikido books that have them I would be very grateful.

As always public and private replies are welcome.

my advice to you before you go on your odyessy is to find out what version of the kumitachi does your school teach, as they are all not the same. Then try to tape them doing it. this way you can get a version you want being performed by people from your class, that you can ask specific questions to later, if you reach a trouble spot. Learing from a tape without good working knowledge of the forms or the style is two steps backward in an attempt to go forward. The kata are there to demostrate specific principles which can only be conveyed by instruction not by viewing, unless you already have a keen insight into the system with which you can develop from the viewings, some do. but personal instruction is the best way to go.

of course that's my opinion I could be wrong

Wow! Someone on the forum actually visited my site.

Beware, however. There is a big, fat caveat on the root pictures page that says that this is _not_ intended for instruction.

That's me on the left in those pictures and I can immediately spot a dozen things wrong.

If you want to see the correct way to do the kumitachi that we're doing in that series, order some of Saito Sensei's tapes. If you can't find them, I've heard second hand that the Crane's are good. Can't speak first hand.
