Suggestions for dojo in Tacoma/Olympia WA area?

Hello all! My name is Greg Hollandsworth. I'm new to AikiWeb but not new to aikido. I trained in Northern Virginia with Jimmy Sorrentino about 4 years ago and left to get my Doctorate degree. Now I'm living in Washington state and I'm trying to find a dojo near the Tacoma/Olympia area. If I was closer I would drive to George Ledyard's ASU dojo but it's about an hour and half away. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it! I plan on visiting a couple of dojos in Tacoma and one in Olympia but I just wanted see if anyone had any ideas. Thanks!

Bruce Bookman Sensei is about 25 miles north of you at TenzinAikido. You can find him here on the dojo search. Wonderful teacher and practitioner.

Yes, you should check out Ledyard Sensei. I got to train with him at the 2005 AikiExpo and he was not only fun, but patient and helpful with a relative newbie.

Good luck,

Hi Greg,
There are a number of very good teachers in your area, and I know of at least three ASU teachers within the general area: Lee Crawford, Darrin McGee, George Ledyard. There are a number of teachers from other organizations that are also very good. I was in the Seattle area last year for the Friendship Seminar with Ikeda Sensei and Heiny Sensei, had an opportunity to experience a lot of good aikido from a variety of organizations. Happy dojo searching.

I have been going to TenShin Budo Kai Dojo for about 9 years now. I moved from Puyallup to Shelton and still make the trip there. It is located in Tacoma. The website is: http://www.aikidotacoma.org/
