Re: Article: truth, Truth, and Broken Clocks (an introduction of sorts) by "The Grindstone"
Hey Mike!
I liked your article. You do have something about your writing style that brings people in. You are your own person and you write as though your speaking to someone right in front of you. That's good! Makes a person feel safe.
One thing you said that struck me was something to the effect of," The only way out is the way through." That's a hard-core truth I learned a long time ago... and it happens to be right on. People often get themselves involved in things that, once there, they want to run away from it. But you can't. If you face something and follow it through, then you can leave it behind you and move on.
I'm not a big "christian" type person, but there is an evangelist on T.V. named Charles Stanley. I was watching his show one day and he was talking about, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death... I will fear no evil." We've all heard that phrase, right? Well, he mentioned a very good point: Valleys are open at both ends! Though you might have gotten yourself in there... there is a way out! I like it and think it is a good analogy for life and the many turbulant times we all have to go through: you're here, but there is a way out ----> THROUGH.
Anyhow, good luck with your writing. Now that you've started it, you have to finish it so I look forward to your next entry. You are in some good company: Ledyard Sensei, "The MIrror" and others. That Jun asked you to write is a compliment in itself, and I wish you all the best with it!
Take it easy.
