Aikidorka..... lol...

I practice aikido and play judo and I don't call myself or anyone else a "ka" of either as I am American and live in the US and speak English.

If I was going to visit Japan, I'd bone up on this stuff. Maybe. After watching the J.A.A. teaching/marketing video I'm not so sure they'd recognize what I do. It's not nearly slam-bang enough, seems like.

I find it interesting that the kanji character for kuzushi illustrates a mountain falling on a house.

I've never seen "watakushi" used outside of a textbook. I think it's super formal. "Watashi" is much more common.

"Student" is correctly transliterated as "gakusei." The ending is the same character as "sensei."

What's the context in which you're saying this?
