Favorite Aikido Video Clips

Hello All,

I have been browsing around youtube, google video, etc... and looking at different aikido videos lately. I have realized that there are way too many clips to take in, and finding the good ones can be needle in a haystack work at times. I am curious as too what some of your favorite videos have been throughout your aikido browsing as of late. I am in no particular way looking for anything specific, just wanted to find some good and/or fun videos showing various aikido techniques, demonstrations, etc...

Thanks.

I came acrossed these the other night, and it's some of the best footage I've ever seen of O Sensei.

If you like it must be because you're in it, that's for sure.

Doshu tested me for shodan. I was very nervous but well prepared, sensei made sure of that. It was a very memorable experience.

First off, in no way am I trying to discredit you our your sensei's aikido. I'm just saying I've heard the bit about attacks in aikido being weak and half assed......but this one just seems to really push that envelope. Sorry you'll have to forgive me, but I'm just speaking my mind. Would you like to correct me on something I'm not perceiving correctly? Please do, I just had to say that.

Sandan-demo? Is tori in that clip a Tomiki-style sandan?

My Aikido teacher is the one translating for Doshu. I take this clip as a lesson in what my Kali instructor calls avoiding the "familiarity that breeds contempt." You go to class regularly, see the same guy teaching, and don't think twice about it. But even an MA like Aikido, which as been established in the US for what, 40 or 50 years, is something special. And even then, how many people can not just count to 10 in Japanese, but are fluent enough in it to ask a Japanese person a question and not make fool of himself? Never take anyone or anything for granted, because nothing like them will come your way again. (And it's cool to have him on video, too. )

Why do you ask this? I did not see a lot of Tomiki influence in the movement.

What you see in that video are bits of the Koryu dai san kata done by people far removed from the Tomiki lineage I suspect.

Thank you for the video links Alexsandro, I enjoyed the videos from Facerj a great deal. As well as everyone else's links.

Although, there were only a few videos listed in this thread, many of them were very enjoyable, and I had never seen them before. Thanks for taking the time to list them, so it is easier for everyone else to find their way to them.
