Hello from Ottawa, Canada
Hi,
I've just begun studying Yoseikan Aikido as my first art. It's a great personal challenge given that I've never been remotely athletically inclined until about 10 months ago, and even as a young person I never had much grace, balance, or good motor memory. But I didn't see a lot of purpose in taking on something that would come easily... Not a lot of room for meaningful growth there, compared to the gains to be made by filling huge voids I've ignored for decades.
I am enormously thankful to have met a couple of very helpful peers who seem perfectly suited to guide me through the baby steps. I only wish I could be there training more than 3 hours a week. It feels like the knowledge evaporates from my pores as soon as I leave the dojo.
