Musical aiki?
Just curious, do you have songs that remind you of, exemplify, put you in the mood for, etc. aikido training?
I'm looking to burn a cd of aikido inspirational tracks to pump me for nidan prep (no, not scheduled, I'm starting early), and I want to see if other folk do the same, and what they like.
My first four songs off the top of my head are Chumbawamba-Tubthumper, Des'ree-You Gotta Be, The Shamen-Move Any Mountain, and Yoshida Kyoudai-Storm.
Maybe some Kodo, some Prodigy (Baby's Got a Temper), Drowning Pool's Let the Bodies Hit the Floor...
???

Ki by Devin Townsend
Almost anything by him in fact, especially his recent lyrical themes.
There are also some dedicated aikido songs in Japanese such as Shiroi Keikogi and Aikido no Hana.

Re: Musical aiki?
When I stretch and do some tai sabaki at home, I always have really deep, glitchy downtempo playing. I try to float through the different motions, and really feel certain parts of my body stretch as the music diffuses through the room and myself. My window is open so I can put my mind outside into the woods at times, and this time of year is beautiful in both sight and scent.
Ill-Esha's "Paperwork and Cinnamon"

This kind of music is beautiful to help express the fluidity of spinning glowsticks/fire poi too, if'n anyone is into that.

Re: Musical aiki?
I've always thought "Let the Bodies Hit The Floor" would make for an excellent song to play in the background during randori with several ukes.
"Beaten what for
Can't take much more
(Here we go here we go here we go)
One
Nothing wrong with me
Two
Nothing wrong with me
Three
Nothing wrong with me
Four
Nothing wrong with me
One
Something's gotta give
Two
Something's gotta give
Three
Something's gotta give
RAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor..."
