I agree, although I voted 'always' for both... maybe mental pushing and perseverance has higher cardinality!

Depends upon the definition of "push, and persevere." I put "sometimes," because the question is vague. What does "push, and persevere mentally" mean?

Is it the opposite of "be passive, and accepting?" If that's the case: then "pushing and persevering" can be counterproductive.

I think "push and persevere" runs along the lines of : "never stop probing." Even if some people are doing aikido as a hobby, they can still lose themselves in their hobby. I think this is the buddhist idea of selflessness.
