Cool Bon Tarde! (from Curacao, NA)

Dear all,

I am living in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. Thursday, November 18th, I am to have my first lesson from Wong-Loi-Sing Sensei at the Aikido Curacao Dojo.

I trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for three months at Clay Pittman's Academy of Martial Arts. Clay received his Black Belt in BJJ under Carlos Machado, in Texas. He was a very good teacher. However, I now live on this small carribean island and have found no one that trains in BJJ. I would like to continue my BJJ training if there was anyone that could teach!

However , I am very excited about studying Aikido. I will be living here for at least a year (most probably two to three) and look forward to opening my mind to an art form that I believe will add many new levels and depths to my life.

Thank you for your time.

Victor

Hi Victor,

Welcome, and thank you for your introduction!

I've never been to Curacao, but have visited Aruba several years back...

Thanks for the warm welcome. You've been to Aruba? I'm so close, but have yet to fly to Aruba. I would like to go soon (I miss Taco Bell). haha

Curacao is on my list of places to visit to SCUBA dive!!!
I'd like to do an A-B-C Islands tour in the next couple of
years! (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao)

...maybe I can even do a little aikido while I'm there too!

Take care & enjoy your training!

Among the friends of mine who are divers, there is little doubt about it.......Curacao is one of the best locations in the world. As for the Aikido training, from what I hear, as long as you remove your tank and fins, you're allowed to in the dojo.
