Looking for a dojo in Japan...

My son is living in Otawara in Tochigi Province for the next six months and is having a hard time finding a dojo. He has only started studying Aikido but would like to find a place to practice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Aikikai website doesn't come up with anything, but Google came up with a Ki Society place:

住所 : 大"原市美原3-2-62 栃木県立県北"育館
TEL : 0285-68-4000

Best,

Chris

Re: Looking for a dojo in Japan...

If Ki society isn't his cup of tea, Otawara is about 45 minutes drive or about an hour by train from where I used to train in Shirakawa. It is a fairly conventional Aikikai honbu style, but they are very good and teach excellent ukemi. He will certainly get a workout. PM me if you are interested and I'll get in touch with sensei. I'm sure someone would be happy to meet your son at the station to guide him to the dojo.
