Is Aikiken extracted/watered-down Yagyu Shinkage Ryu?

And btw "Aikiken" is a rather broad term. What style of aikiken are you thinking of? Saito-style? Shirata? Nishio? Saotome?

Iwama Ryu, I heard O'Sensei studied shinkage ryu. Whilst Kishomaru studied Kashima Shin-Ryu

According to those who know more than me, there are striking similarities between the first partner katas in Kashima Shinto Ryu and the first ken awase-exercises in Iwama style weapons.
As far as I remember the little Yagyu Shinkage Ryu that O´sensei studied focused on taijutsu, not kenjutsu.
