Sensei Tohei and Doshu K Ueshiba.

Hey All.

I have been reading several books resently and been hearing references (especially in John Stevens books) to the split between Sensei Tohei and the late Doshu.

Could anyone explain to me what happened between these 2 great men?

Thanks for your time.

there is a very good explanation in Roy Suenaka's book "Complete Aikido". There is way too much to explain in this forum.

Basically philosophical differences.

Aren't they related by marriage? I think I read somewhere that they married sisters.

You can find many good articles and interviews about this matter in aikido journal online. I have read several of these and was shocked to see a not so attractive side of Tohei sensei's character....

So what did Tohei Sensei actually do?

If you could just outline it for me.

Thanks again.

Hey, even Osensei slipped and fell down before.
