Source for inexpensive dogi

Hello,

Our dojo gets an influx of beginners at the start of the school year and I'd like to help them to find a source for an inexpensive dogi. Does anyone know of any place with good prices for a single weave judo gi?

Thanks,

Mel

We have the same situation and usually order beginner gis from one of the larger martial arts supply companies. If you let them know you're with a club they will usually give you a discount on price as well.

try The Kiyota Co. They don't have a website but can be reached at 410-366-8275 or faxed at 410-366-3540.

I aslo like The Academy of Karate, Martial Art Supply Store for inexpensive equipment. You have to bear in mind though that you are getting what you pay for. If you buy a $7.00 bokken from them, that's exactly what you get, but it's not bad to start with

I have an account with Tiger Claw which is located in Fremont, California. For our youth, I typically order the light weight/beginners karate uniform. They run anywhere from $10-$15 and have held up well.

For the teens/adults, they have the option of a medium weight karate gi or a single weave judo gi. The medium weight karate gi's have also held up very well and run anywhere from $15 - $25. It's not uncommon for us to have consectutive 100+ degree temperatures, at 7:00 PM, and these uniforms have been great.

The single weave judo gi's, depending on bleached or unbleached, run $35 - $45 and have held up well.

Tiger Claw can be reached at 1-800-821-5090. Website is www.tigerclaw.com.

Hope that helps ...
