YouTube: Aikido Doshu Ueshiba Moriteru - Kagamibiraki 2016

Here is a video of Moriteru Ueshiba (Doshu, Aikikai) demonstrating at the 2016 Kagami Biraki ceremony at Aikikai Hombu Dojo.

What are your thoughts on this video?

Impressive as usual, more so with the terribly small mat space he worked in. I enjoy watching Doshu on the mat, very light, very controlled, very relaxed.

It was good to watch him from a side angle this time. I managed to spot a couple of subtleties to his technique I hadn't seen before, despite the confined space.

My thoughts...

I think it's impossible to provide constructive comments on a demonstration like this... given the subject, the audience, and the subject matter.

I have to say though.. he looks extremely bored.
