Also good to know - he used to teach at Shodokan Honbu. His own group once a week but we would also see him at events and he was always great to talk to. The first time I saw him was at the opening ceremony at the newly expanded Shodokan Honbu where he gave a fantastic embu - I still remember it as being the best aikikai enbu I have ever seen.
Looking back at my gmail archives he was always very helpful when I needed it.
