And yet your description of it is "
somewhat applicable against at least untrained attackers". That doesn't sound "modern", it sounds more like basic common sense that the other "traditional" dojo didn't have.
Do the Tenshin guys at least do movements, techniques and attacks with intensity? Do they have some conditioning exercises? Do they do weapons techniques with usable attacks and weapons?
